I have a big black office binder sitting in one of the cupboards in my kitchen acting as my personal cookbook. It’s fitted with dozens of empty plastic sleeves, and every time I want to document a new recipe I simply print it out and slot it in. It works for me because this setup is very practical and the sleeves allow me to individually remove recipes without damage or splattering food all over them. I can also physically cross things out or write things down as needed.
I’ve decided to digitally memorialize all the recipes I had until in my cookbook through 15-5-2025. I’m going to start posting new recipes on my site before printing them out, that way I have a digital copy of the recipe and a physical copy in my binder. My Obsidian setup makes this extremely convenient, as I can just export the recipe as a PDF straight from the app itself while simultaneously publishing it to my website. Here is the export of my Egg Salad recipe.
